it was december 6th, we've been planning for this dinner party for the longest time. getting excited and everything. invitations were sent out, and then a secret santa was sent out by a 3rd party to each person. i got anna. i was doing my shopping till last minute. i had no clue who had me, i didn't want to know. i like surprises.
finally december 6th came. it was wonderful, the food was great, the company was wonderful. every thing was superb.
anna had make a paper christmas tree, and we had to put the gifts "under" the tree.
anyhow, after dinner, it was gift time. anna was sitting closest to the christmas tree. so the gifts were handed to her, and then to who ever it belonged to. and whose gift was the first one? hers. but who was it passed on to? me.
because the idiot i am doesn't know how to play secret santa (even though the email sent by the 3rd party actually had a wiki link abt "how to play secret santa"... what do i do? write my name on the card....
she picks it up "ohh, n its yours! :D" me: "no no, that's yours...!" her: "but it has your name on it..." me with confidence: "ohh, i forgot to write "from n""
i was never ever so embarrassed in my life.
she had the gift bag i had given her the things in laying around in her room... everytime i would walk in and see it i would feel like the biggest idiot ever.

anyways, i got the best gift ever!!
i became friends with a girl from mexico, i called her my mexican. her name, of course, is maria. but she goes by esther. very smart young woman.
whenever we'd be hanging out, somehow the book "the little prince" would always come up. its one of her favorite books. i mentioned that i had never read it before... she was in shock, and disappointed.
guess who my secret santa was? :)
My one and only mexican. and i got the little prince!!
not only that, but in the cover she had written a little note in ARABIC! perfect arabic. her handwriting was even better than mine, and she wrote it her self.
i don't think i have ever been so happy with a gift. you know, there's the "ohh, thank you that's really nice..." this was OMG OMG OMG! i was jumping.
